Pearl Jam to rock Super Bowl halftime (we wish)

Nice PJ reference in this Michael Silver SI.com article:

"10. Nashville and Seattle (tie): Sure, it can get cold in either of these musically inclined cities, but these are two untapped gems we'd like to see injected into the Super Bowl mix, if only to see halftime shows by Dolly Parton and Pearl Jam."

Now, the Super Bowl is commercialized as hell, and really, PJ doesn't fit in the mold. But, I am going to be watching the Super Bowl anways... so it would be a nice combination. They would of course play a gig out in the parking lot before the game and blow everyones mind. I would go down to Nashville for that! Hell, I would look forward to Dolly Parton as well (so would Ronson).

Toledo Sports Arena coming down

Toledo Sports Arena
For those of you who attended Pearl Jam's Toledo, Ohio stop on the 2004 Vote for Change Tour, your memories of the venue will be just that, memories. Toledo's antiquated Sports Arena will be meeting the wrecking ball soon, and coming down with it will be ghosts of performances past, such as Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Pearl Jam, Neil Young, Young Jeezy, Johnny Cash, Nine Inch Nails, Kid Rock, Bob Seger and many, many more. The Toledo Blade is asking for your memories of the place, so if you are so inclinded, give them a holla.

Personally, I was at the show and pretty blown away to see PJ in such a small setting. That is, compared to your typical arenas and pavilions. It was old, musty, cold, crowded and loud. My ears were ringing for a day or so after that show. It was damn loud, just the way we like it, right? Here are the photos I took that night at the show, and afterwards while waiting for the drawbridge to come back down. For those of you that where there, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
